Malaysia has implemented a Movement Control Order (MCO) since 18 March 2020 to control the spread of the COVID-19 infection and to cut off the channels of transmission. In the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak, the most direct and effective way to promote best practices in prevention and control from across the countries is to immediately stop overseas outbound and inbound travel. Unfortunately, this movement restriction has implemented and caused our once lively-filled airport to instantly become an empty shell without an owner.
Upon entering the 7th month of Malaysia’s Covid-19 anti-epidemic, what is the situation inside Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2)? Let's take a sneak peek into the airport today.
Many closed shop lots and even some stores couldn't keep up with the revenue and are forced to shut down.
Never see Starbucks Coffee and Family Mart is so quiet and empty.
Malaysian’s favorite Makan places - OldTown White Coffee, Hometown Hainan Coffee, and FOODarcade are now closed.
The ever-popular food souvenir shop, Ban Heang, has closed its gate. Baskin Robbins also has their counters frozen still.
The COVID-19 has hit airport businesses real hard. Although Malaysia airports are yet to reopen for general tourism, luckily, Green Lane with Singapore remained open for business purposes.
